I'm not about religion either. I don't go to church or pray because I'm not sure what I believe anymore. I was rasied Catholic but it was pushed on me, so when my first was born I went through the motions, had her baptized and sent her to Catholic until she received communion & then switched to Public. I figure now I can learn WITH her about different religions/cultures and let her decide because like you religion was pushed on me.

Do what's right for you and that little boy is just too sweet in his white.

Oh, he's so freaking adorable.

I'm eh on church and religion in general. My dad was raised with watered down Judaism, my mom raised a southern baptist. Neither of them really believed in either, so I was raised with no religion. I kinda like that, because it made it where I could form my own beliefs without being told it wasn't okay.

awww he is so cute. it's a great picture. and i think you're like a lot of other people who had religion pushed down their throats their whole childhood that as adults, they just can't hack it. me and my 2 sisters all grew up in church and never went to public school a day in our lives. 2 sisters rebelled. i stayed strong. i still go to church and now hannah goes to christian school. but like i said, i can't blame you. it's hard to want to stick to something that was shoved in your face over and over...esp if you don't agree with it all, you know? either way, jimmy looked adorable :)

I was raised Methodist/Catholic (Metholic? Cathodist?), and Dave was Church of England, which is basically Episcopalian. We still haven't really decided how we're going to raise our kids. That's mostly Dave, though - he was a youth minister & had a really horrible experience with his church: a young family had a child with leukemia, the church rallied to support them, then the child died & the entire church shunned them because "if they'd had more faith," their child would've lived. (I know, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I first heard that one too. It's a doozy!) But since then, it's like pulling teeth to get him to even set foot inside a church.

Personally, I like church. I especially like what I call the "relaxed & groovy Christians" that are inclusive of everybody and don't push a particular agenda on you. I think if I were a little more proactive and found a church like that, I could maybe coerce Dave into coming with us. As it stands now, we don't have a church and Catie has never been baptized, and my parents are NOT HAPPY about that fact. Hmm.

P.S. That is one seriously gorgeous baby you have there.

Well put. Neither my husband or I go to church so we didn't have our daughter baptized. I'm sure some in our families look down on us for that but I don't care. I was raised in the anglican church and always enjoyed going. I got away from going to church when I moved out and actually my mom doesn't go anymore either. My view is that religion is a personal choice and if Maya wants to go to church when she is older I'll gladly take her, but I'll leave that choice up to her.

Jimmy is so adorable in that photo. Too cute.

What a cutie! That's such a nice picture.
You're right, religion can be a volatile topic. Neither Bil, nor I, go to church. So when we told my parents (staunch Catholics) we weren't having V baptized they about died. I think it's your kids. You need to do what feels right for you and your family.
