I am for sure feeling the lack of baby in my house. THEN to add to the ache, not one…not two…BUT THREE of my friends are all newly pregnant. My best friend from middle school is having her first, one of my best friends from high school is having her second and one of my most favorite online girls too.

Sigh. I may need to re-think this no more babies thing.

Somebody talk some sense in too me and remind me of the four months of screaming colicky hell that was Jimmy as a newborn. The two weeks of bed rest with Chase and the five weeks with Jimmy. Someone remind me that I have a damned good chance of a preemie if I have another baby, or the fact that Jim is a total no go on the idea. Someone tell me I would just be trying for a girl and then end up with three boys and thereisnofrackingwayIcouldhandlethat.

Someone tell me that holding and loving on all my friends babies will be enough.

Someone lie to me, because there is NOTHING that feels like this

I’ve been taking a bit of a step back from social media and the damn Internet in general in the last few days. Don’t worry, I’m still here…but I’m not allowing it to rule my days.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time with my fingertips on an electronic device. I check Facebook  and Twitter, email and message boards that I am a part of. I have to check in on my bank accounts and school work. I poke in my Fantasy leagues to see how badly I’m losing (Matt, your on my shit list). I pull up Google Reader and read all my favorite blogs.  Then when I’m finished, I end up starting at the beginning and checking them all again.

It really ends up being a way bigger part of my day then it needs to be and I think that needs to change. I have so much that I need to do every day that ends up being pushed to the side because I get sucked into the black hole that is TweetDeck, or get started playing Bejeweled on FaceBook.

I’m going to start trying to stay off the internet in the mornings before I go to work. Not that I won’t be on at all, but I want to spend more productive time with the boys, and I want to get all the things done that I’ve been putting off. I can’t do that if I’m glued to my laptop.

I’m also participating in National Novel Writing Month. I’ve actually written a novel. I finished it when I was 23, but it sits in a drawer in my room because I’m not motivated enough about my writing to see if it’s any good. I’m excited about the challenge of 50,000 words in 30 days. I think it will be fun and I am enjoying the chaos of getting to know and create characters in such a short time. My story is taking form quickly, and I’m really having fun writing it.

So…that’s what I’m trying to do. It doesn’t mean I won’t be around to chat with. It doesn’t mean I’m not here if you need me. I’ll be doing a little lurking, trying to comment on more blogs and respond to more of my comments here. Twitter gets in the way of my blogging sometimes and that’s going to change.

Things are getting in gear around here for the summer. Holy Busy Batman.

My summer class just began, and it will run to the 2nd of July. I HATE taking classes in the summer, but it was needed before my fall classes, so oh well.

On June 22nd I start my summer schedule at the YMCA, working one day a week in the babysitting room. I like doing this in the summer since I can bring both boys with me and Chase gets to play with some kids his age. Plus I score a 90$ a month membership for free, definitely an added bonus for this Fatty Patty 2X4.

On the 4th of July we leave to go to Ocean City MD with the whole family for a week. I cannot wait. I look forward to this trip every year. This year should be interesting, since Jimmy will only be 5 months old, but we will pull it off. * IF ANYONE HAS TAKEN A BABY THIS YOUNG TO THE BEACH AND HAS ADVICE PLEASE COMMENT!! KTHANKS.*

We come home on the 11th, and then we have Chase’s 2nd birthday on the 24th. Wow. I don’t know where the time is getting away from me…this is nuts. I think we are going to have two small parties, one for his little friends at our home, and one for the family at my in laws.

Among all of this insanity I also need to schedule Jimmy’s baptism. I’m thinking it’s not going to happen till after our vacation, since the weekends in June are already so busy for our family, and the chosen godparents.

August HOPEFULLY will be quiet. I would really like some down time before my fall classes start, since they are really going to be tough for me.

So there it is. Summer of insanity. What happened to being a kid and the summer meant nothing but free time and riding my bike. Man I miss that.
